Create a mask from a selection, save to alpha channel, Load as a mask on duplicate background layer. Add special FX. Adjust mask with paint brush tool.

Learn to load a mask from disk onto the duplicated layer of a photograph. Move the mask and layer as a group and move the mask and the layer individually as well. Fill the background for special FX.

April 19, 2007 - Animate the Donkey in Anime Studio- Part 2    Anime Studio or Anime Studio Pro 5

In Part 2 of this series, Open a new file in Anime Studio, import the donkey parts png file created in part 1 below. Group the parts in a group layer, scale, position and restack. If you don't do part 1 of this tutorial or don't have PSP, download the Parts in DonkeyforAnime.zip to import into Anime Studio for this part.

Requires Anime Studio or Anime Studio Pro 5.

April 19, 2007 - Animate the Donkey in Anime Studio- Part 1     PSP 9 and above/Anime Studio or Anime Studio Pro 5

In Part 1 of this series, use DonkeyFrames created in Animate a Donkey tutorial below, adjust layers and export each "part to 24 bit PNG with transparency.

You will need PSP 9 or X  for this part 1, and Anime Studio or Anime Studio Pro 5 for parts 2 and beyond.

March  29, 2007 - Animating a Donkey Part 3b     PSP 9 and above.

In Part 3b, the final part of this tutorial series, use PSP and Animation Shop to make the animation. Turn layer groups on and off, and move the sky and grass layers to create a sense of the donkey moving across the landscape.

March  22, 2007 - Animating a Donkey Part 3a     PSP 9 and above.

In Part 3a of  this three (well 4 actually) part tutorial set up 4 frames in PSP by duplicating the master group layer, then moving individual parts around and rotating legs and head into position. Learn to move the rotation point with the pick tool and use basic onion skinning.  Duplicate two frame groups renaming to frames 3 and 4. Move into position.

Will use Animation Shop 3 next week.

March  15, 2007 - Animating a Donkey Part 2     PSP 9 and above.

In Part 2 of  this three part tutorial create a landscape for the donkey to walk across in part 3's animation. Use new layers with gradient fills. Erase the grass to make hills. Paint on clouds. Change the layer size to leave room to move the layers layer.

March  8, 2007 - Animating a Donkey Part 1     PSP 9 and above.

In Part 1 of  this three part tutorial cut up an image of a donkey in PSP 9 or higher, paste the piecesof head, legs, tail and body into a selection on new layers. Group the pieces.  Part two and three to follow. Uses freehand selection tool and layer grouping.
